Bowen Questions and AnswersBowen therapy?Q) Has anyone tried Bowen therapy for the treatment of chronic pain?
I have atypical facial pain and have had it for around 6 yrs now. My usual drugs are now less effective and I am thinking of trying alternative treatments. I have already tried acupuncture but that was unsuccesful, a friend suggested Bowen therapy but I cant find much on the internet about it.
Has anybody tried it and was it successful?
A) I have had Bowen Therapy, and felt quite good afterwards. It is a very different experience. I was laying there wondering how what they were doing would help, but afterwards I definately felt better. I however do not suffer from chronic pain, so I dont know how it would work for you.
Perhaps you could look into seeing a naturopath/homeopath in conjuction with a Bowen Therapist, they may have some natural alternatives for pain relief. What is bowen/alexander technique?A) Alexander technique: Patient education/guidance in ways to improve posture and movement, and to use muscles efficiently.
Bowen technique: Gentle massage of muscles and tendons over acupuncture and reflex points.
The Bowen Technique is a fast and effective body treatment which operates within a holistic framework. It is safe to use on anyone, from the new born to the aged and immobile, and produces lasting relief from pain and discomfort.
A treatment involves the application of sequences of moves on the body carried out in a very specific and systematic manner. There is no forceful manipulation, rather cross-fibre manoevering of muscle, tendon, ligment or nerve, using varying degrees of pressure and incorporating resting periods to allow the body to respond.
The Bowen Technique stimulates circulation, encourages lymphatic and venous drainage, promotes assimilation of nutrients and elimination of toxins, increases joint mobility and improves posture.
The Bowen Technique works extremely will in most conditions including:
· Back and neck pain
· Knee, hip and ankle pain, tight hamstrings
· Sciatica, tight, stiff or frozen shoulder
· Tennis and golfers elbow
· RSI and Carpal tunnel syndrome
· Scoliosis
· TMJ - jaw problems
· Lymphatic drainage problems
· Shin pain
· Cramps
· Coccyx
· Pins and neeles and numbness
· Facial pain, bells palsy
· Colic in babies.
The Alexander Technique was developed a century ago and is now scientifically recognised throughout the world as a powerful method of dealing with physical and mental stress, encouraging personal growth and transformation. It is a way of becoming more aware of balance, posture and movement in everyday activities. Most of us have learned habits which interfere with our natural poise, coordination and functioning.
The role of the Alexander Teacher is to re-educate the whole body using gentle guidance with the hands and subtle thought processes. This helps unravel our inappropriate responses and encourages the natural reflexes to work again.Should Jeremy Bowen stop pretending to be an impartial BBC reporter and instead go and work for Al jazeera?A) Or we can just re-name the BBC.
How about Al-Beeb?what is the Bowen technique?Q) we have been trying for 5 years now we have done 3 ivf cycles
A) It is basically a type of massage, the blurb says that it "Helps the body to remember how to heal itself".
The muscles are massaged at particular points and this stimulates specific parts of the autonomic nervous system.
I have never tried it and I don't know anyone that has, but I have read loads of reports on how it has helped people with many afflictions and illnesses. I have no idea how it could help with conception but as they say...it might be worth trying. Let's face it IVF is no picnic and it's expensive, trying the Bowen for a couple of months would only cost a fraction and you'd probably enjoy it too ;)
The web site below gives a more detailed account than I have here of what the Bowen Technique actually is.
Good luck and I hope IT happens for you soon.bull's eye, jim bowen or dave spikey ?A) Jim Bowen definetly!!Do you know who Jim Bowen is?A) He is also on the board of directors of Morcombe football clubI am looking for Clare Bowen, for the simple reason that we were in the ATC and have lost track of her!?Q) I feel it is high time I started looking up my old ATC chums and Clare seems to be the best person to start with!

A) you love england but does the british love you..........i dont think so.does anyone have experience of the Bowen Technique? If so, what are your feelings on it?A) this is a technique developed some time ago by what some would call a hippie! If its pain management youre after, you may be better off finding a good massage therapist, someone who specialises in deep tissue massage, its just my opinion but having experienced both types of treatment, id opt for the more hands on approach every time.Seperated at birth? A) thanks for my 1st real laff of the day !! how true they do look alike lol !
Is Bruce Bowen Overrated? Seriously?!?Q) Someone recently asked, "Is Bruce Bowen overrated?" How can a guy who's been named to the All-NBA Defensive Team SEVEN times be overrated?! Granted, Bowen's best defensive stops are behind him ... but "overrated?!"
The author of this question added that Bowen can't guard LeBron mano-a-mano.
This is how many points LeBron, who averaged 27 points-per-game, scored against teams with All-NBA First-Team perimeter defenders (Ron Artest, Bowen, Kobe Bryant, Jason Kidd, Andrei Kirilenko):
Jazz: 23, 24.
Kings: 34.
Lakers: 13, 38.
Nets: 19, 35.
Spurs: 19, 35. And after last night, 14.
There's no guarantee each team's best defender matched-up with LeBron (I doubt the Nets put J-Kidd on him much), but it makes sense that they would at least some of the time.
It upsets me when Champ Bailey gets beat deep twice ... Tom Brady throws three picks ... or Bruce Bowen surrenders forty and the "overrated" questions begin.
Do I have a case, or am I out of order?
A) You do have a case i mean bowen is great at defense but his best days are behind him that's why he wasn't asked to team usa. I play basketball everyday and after watching him he uses more grabbing and little things that aren't seen by the refs but one on one agianst lebron thier is no way in the world he could guard him lebron is way more powerful even david robinson said he couldn't i mean in a nba game lebron is always double teamed triple teamed so in essence bowen isn't guarding him one on one.Bruce Bowen dirty s***t!!?Q) ok i am not even a suns fan and i cant stand bruce bowen. after his dirty antics in game 4 i typed bruce bowen on youtube and all i got was dirty trick after dirty trick. and when the players get up to fight back (those who arent hobbled that is) bruce acts like a damn coward. im tired of his shit. he should be suspended for the playoffs and several games for next year and fined. if u can get up off a damn bench and be suspended then bowen should get more than just two games.
go bulls
(yes i still bileive)
look here yellow.. i can care less how i spelt n e thing. thats not the point. see ur prolly n sas fan and ur just trying to change the subject cuz u noe evry1 else is rite
A) I thought it was Robert Whory?
I spelled it wrong for a reason.Who else thinks bowen was just moving his pivot foot?Q) Bowen was just getting ready to take his dribble, and nash was playing solid defence (miricle) so bowen caught him. Bowen knows every trick in the book, you think he needs to do somthing that obvious??
P.S. Im a kobe fan and even i have love for Bowen, stop hating, and supporting this lovable, huggable, girly NBA....that wasnt ment to be sexist.
A) Spurs are not a DIRTY TEAM
Suns just cry like babies when they lose.
FACE IT THE SPURS ARE BETTER!!!Bowen had a great 2007 NBA playoffs shutting down Iverson, Nash, and LeBron.?Q) 36 year old Bruce Bowen in the 2007 NBA playoffs shut down former MVP Allen Iverson, two time MVP Steve Nash, and Air Jordan's heir LeBron.
Unprecedented for a 36 year old to be running up and down the court with the NBA's best players and shutting them down defensively throughout the 2007 playoffs.
Just last month, Bruce Bowen was voted as the #1 defender by the Head Coaches in the NBA.
As far as Utah, it seemed that Tony Parker was on Deron...
plus I think that it was the Spurs strategy against Utah to let Deron get his 30 points as it took Utah totally out of their offense and took Carlos Boozer totally out of the game. I mean how do you explain when Utah closed out Golden State that Deron only had 2 points while Boozer had 21 points and 14 rebounds... I think that Coach Popovich took advantage of Deron's lack of inexperience as a team leader as Deron shot so much against the Spurs most likely as Deron is a native Texan.
A) Pop said Bowen is, "Our most valuable player," in an interview just yesterday. There you go, Bowen is the true MVP, not Tony or Dirk. Bowen stopped everyone and made clutch 3s.bowen kicking stoudemire?Q) have you seen the video in youtube where in game 2 bowen intentionally kicked stoudemire in his achilles while he was going for a dunk? stoudemire almost fell and had to balance himself so as not to trip. no wonder bowen will never win defensive player of the year. too dirty
A) Bowen is notorious for the move but it is normally during a jumpshot. A guy takes a shot and bowen will do little to contest the shot so to stay on the ground and will then slid his foot underneth the shooter, the result is that sometimes the shooter comes down funny and possibly gets injured. Time and time again this has happened....and yet no action taken...ESPN sport center even did a segment on it and showed that he did over and over again. But nothing will happen because the Spurs are the NBA's trophy team with the NBA's trophy player Duncan. I take nothing away from the spurs...they are a great team and i feel they will win it all again but sometimes they through the dirt with the best of them. Bowen i do feel is an extreamly dirty player...he is resonsible for more twisted ankles from his DIRTY...uhh...i mean "lockdown" defense then anyone else in the game and its digusting. You can totaly see thats it is intentional...why has nothing been done? Kobe gets suspended for flayling his arm on a follow through on a play that was'nt even called a foul and gets suspended one game with no prior warnings...just one and done. Yet Bowen get away with this over and over again. It sucks and so does bowen.Bowen Island, B.C.?Q) I have a big social studies proect, worth a big chunk of my end-of-the year mark.
Basically, we have to pick a location in Canada for a new National Park. But it has to be a real place.
So, I thought I would pick an island in British Columbia, and I'm considering Bowen Island- is that a good choice, or is it like all highways?
Any information about Bowen Island is appreciated!
Best answer will be chosen within 12-24 hours. I really need help, thanks in advance!
Please, I just want to know what part of Bowen Island is inhabited or not, I don't think I can turn the whole island into a National Park...?
A) Try the following,
www.mapquest.com
hopefully this will help you.Bruce Bowen??Q) Do you think bowen will try to pull that move on lebron same thing he did to amare S.and to nash in the nuts?BRUCE BOWEN IS A DIRTY PLAYER BECAUSE HE IS JEALOUS OF ALL THE GOOD PLAYERS SO HE TRYS TO HURT THEM.
to doodoo he guards the best player so he can hurt them because there nasty zit face coach tells him too
A) Yes he will.Bruce Bowen?Q) If you had to be dirty in order to stay in the NBA wouldn't you?
Sure Bruce Bowen is a dirty player but you got to do what you got to do right? Like Bill Simmons said, at one point in Bowen's career he decided he'd do whatever it took to stay in the NBA, even if it meant being dirty.
Wouldn't you be willing to be dirty if it meant earning lots of money? Don't tell me you wouldn't because people do all sorts of things for a couple of bucks. A million bucks is more most would be able to resist
No you wouldn't. Nobody want's to be in the D-League. The D-League sucks. You travel in a bus, you play games no one cares about, you're nothing in the D-League. No one hardly knows anyone in the D-League. It's easy to say you would choose the D-League when you don't have to actually go there for real.
A) There's always been someone like him in the NBA, and every successful (championship) team has one, EVERY SINGLE ONE. This guy is called the enforcer and he's the guy that gives you the hard foul, or constantly slaps at your hands, or slips his foot under yours when you're jumping for a rebound, or knees you in the groin when he's dribbling, or slaps you in the face when he's shooting, or comes up and "cleanly" blocks your shot then throws you to the ground. This guys is as important to a team as a star, because he 1.)protects his teams star
2.)hits the crap out of the other teams star so that guy is afraid to drive the lane.
You saw last night in the Bulls game, Rasheed Wallace hit Loul Deng in the face, and Loul Deng didn't drive to the basket the rest of the night. The NBA is about mind games, and the Spurs have "cleanly", and by cleanly I mean within the rules except for kneeing Nash in the groin, beaten the Suns into submission this series because the NBA has allowed it to happen. As a result the frustration overflowed the other night and when Horry hip checked Nash, Amare was gonna go pound on him, and I've seen the replays so many times that I'm convinced Amare was making a b-line for Horry he doesn't even glance in Nash's direction but is staring straight at Horry's turned back. The Spurs are very good at this though, and mainly because of Bowen. Is Bruce Bowen an overrated defender?Q) To me it seems like there are alot of casual NBA fans jumping on the Bowen Bandwagon. Sure he did a good job defending LeBron...but watching from a neutral point of view, it was a TEAM defensive effort. They cut off driving lanes for him as a TEAM, doubling and triple teaming him all night. I'll give him credit, he's a pretty good defender but one on one there's no chance Bowen can guard LeBron BY HIMSELF.
A) Sure, but there are lots of devoted, knowledgeable fans on the Bowen bandwagon, too. He's never won Defensive Player of the Year, but over the past decade or so he's been a solid contender. The fact that he's guarding LeBron is no fluke -- Popovich knows exactly what he's doing.
You're right -- good defense is team defense. But successful defensive setups still need a core defender assigned to the opposing team's best scorer.Stu Jackson dating Bowen? David Stern dating Horey?Q) When Stu Jackson goes to bed with Bruce Bowen who is

(answer is very)
Also Does Toney Parker Service Duncan as his french
man duty?
(answer is yes, Duncan is tall enough for Parker to service
